The OVer Mama's Holiday Faves

The OVer Mama’s Holiday Faves

Christmas time is the most magical time of the year, especially when you have THREE little kids! Christmas has always been my favourite holiday, but I remember the magic of Christmas came alive the first Christmas Michael and I spent together. There is something about making traditions and giving gifts together as a “family” that really creates the most special holiday moments.

I absolutely LOVE the gift giving aspect of Christmas and I have created my top 10 gifts for Christmas 2018! You can find all of these items in our shop at OVer Collective and most of the items are also listed online and can be shipped worldwide - yay!

I want to know what are your favourite gifts to give (and get!) so let me know in the comments below :) I am always looking for new things to try out :)

1.TIRED crewneck - Zink Made

Ok, I think we all know how much I really love my TIRED crewneck because of how often it makes an appearance in my insta stories πŸ˜‚ but really. What mama can't relate to that constant state of feeling TIRED?! Really, its the perfect gift for any mom on your list!

2.Macrame plant hanger + faux (read: I cant kill them!) plants - Nanei Macrame , Greens Galore

My love for all things macrame started a few years back and last year I became completely obsessed with the hanging macrame plant hangers from Nanei Macrame! I HAD to give them to everyone in need of a gift last year (for each and every occasion πŸ˜‚) and they are right at the top of my list again for 2018. I have an EXTREMELY black thumb when it comes to taking care of live plants so the gorgeous artificial plants from Greens Galore are the perfect option for me! Once they are set in the hanger I can just enjoy them as decor and not have to worry about keeping them alive πŸ‘πŸ»

3.   Wooden Peg Rack - Minika

My grandmother used to have a rack just like this in her front entryway when I was growing up. I am SO happy to see a comeback of this product!! Now I can have something so nostalgic in my own space that is minimal, well-made, and practical. These peg racks make a great addition to any space + you can style them in so many different ways! We have so much fun with that here in my office!

4.   Wooden Doll House / wooden peg family - Tree+Bee Co.

I know all three of my children (6,3,2) will LOVE playing with these adorable wooden peg dolls and doll house together. The house is so well made from pine. I can foresee HOURS of imaginative play between my kids with this set. Sometimes I find the simplest toys bring out the most creativity in my kids. I love to encourage this in them. The monochrome style of these little dolls will also compliment any decor, which is a win/win in my eyes! (I love when my kids toys also LOOK good in their rooms!)

5.    Turkish Towels - House of Jude

We have the HOJ Turkish Towels for each of our family members and I absolutely love giving these luxurious towels as gifts too! Pair them with our custom (they smell so incredible!!) Lunah Life shower steamers to complete the gift!! These towels get softer and softer with each wash + as they get used, which makes me love them even more 😍

6.    Monochrome velvet bow set - Little Bonnie Shop

One of my favourite things about having daughters is that I get to dress them up! My girls know mama gets to choose their outfits on the weekends πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜‚ so this means I get to curate the cutest outfits and accessories for them often! These little velvet bow sets are the perfect addition to any little girl’s Christmas stocking. The Little Bonnie bows fit from newborn to child, which I absolutely love because I have the best collection at home for my girls that just keeps growing each season!

7.    Monochrome dish sets - Young Lux Living

As a family we love the fun patterns in these monochrome dish sets! My kids like to call “dibs” on which plate or bowl they get each time we feed them anything (which is ALWAYS, btw πŸ˜„) and these monochrome sets are so gender neutral and simple. They also look great stacked neatly in the cupboard. :)

The moment I heard of this product I immediately fell in love. The neutral colour options are gorgeous and this tree skirt looks stunning under our tree! Giving a gift like a tree skirt is so special, because each year when someone pulls all their Christmas decor out (which gives me ALLLLLL the Christmas feels) they will think of you!

9.    Pom pom toques - Poppy’s Pom Pom

These GORGEOUS, Canadian made pom pom toques are so nice for the whole family! I am definitely a mom that loves matching my kids (and husbandπŸ˜„) and I am not even ashamed of it! This brand is from Quebec and I have fallen in love with their whole line of knitted hats and blankets.

10.  Letterboard - Letter Peddler

My love for letter boards also started a few years ago and I even DIY’d my own 9ft tall letterboard last fall! When we decided to open the store front at OVer Collective, the one item I knew 100% that I wanted to carry was the Letter Peddler letterboards! I have given letter boards many times as gifts and I will write a cute message on the board for the recipient :) Its the perfect gift for someone that has just about everything! I think every home should have at least one letterboard in it. We have our family motto written on a big one in our kitchen and our kids love reading it together.

I hope you found some inspiration from this little list I put together. I could go on and on and on with all my favourite Canadian items (because there are SOOO many) so I guess there will be some more suggestions coming from me another time soon!

I wish you and your family a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season. Enjoy this beautiful time spent with family and try to find some time to reflect on the year and the happy memories that took place :)

With love,

Sabrina xo

  1. Hi there,

I just bought a beautiful plaid swaddle blanket that I LOVE and as I was reading the care instructions for the blanket, I noticed that there was “Psalm 91:4” printed on the care label. Can you please speak to what this means?
